Passionate about the complexities of human behavior in society, Hone S. uses art as a medium to express the beauty found in the unspoken language of emotions.

Beyond the physicality of the canvas, the artist extends an invitation to others, sharing the acceptance and understanding grown within.

Hone S. blends a rich tapestry of experiences, combining a background in dressmaking, business law, project management, and fashion design into a unique artistic perspective. She was born on February 22, 1998, in Zurich, Switzerland, and has been living and creating there ever since.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My artistic journey is deeply intertwined with the recognition that hidden emotions, often deemed unconventional, are not only an intrinsic part of me but a universal thread that binds us all. Hidden emotions are valid, diverse, profound and don't need to carry the weight of negativity. The essence of my artistic expression lies in visualizing these concealed emotions.

In the society I live in, we reached the top of the "Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs", which is called "Self Actualisation" and is about achieving one's full potential. I ask myself if "the most one can be" truly is the way to happiness or simply an illusory sense of fulfillment to avoid confronting our genuine mental state.

Venturing into the three-dimensional realm, I work with mixed media for a multi-sensory experience. Fabrics, inspired by my background as a dressmaker and fashion designer, add a tactile layer. Mirrors offer an introspective journey into one's emotions, while structured paint, clay, and plaster infuse depth and complexity.

Through my work, I seek to give others the acceptance and understanding I cultivated within myself. This journey goes beyond the canvas, aiming to break free from the conventional and extend an embrace of acceptance to all.
